What are they? And do I need one?

Boletin or “Certificado de Instalación Eléctrica de Baja Tensión”

A Certificado de Instalación Eléctrica de Baja Tensión, certifies that your electrical installation is in a good enough condition to be connected to the supply.

You will need a valid Certificado de Instalación Eléctrica de Baja Tensión if you wish to start a contract with an electricity supplier or alter an existing contract, for example a name change or raising the potencía.

In most cases the modificación certificate is all that is required by the eletricity supplier. In order for this to be issued some work may be necessary to bring the system up to date. Modificación

This is the basic certificate required by the electricity supplier to connect the property to the network. It covers from the network connection through to the fuseboard and ensures all the rules and regulations are abided by.

Amplicación

This is for rewires and any major alterations to the existing system and also covers the modificación elements.

This is for new properties that have recently been built or never had an electricity supply connected.
